Getting Your Life Into Balance | Lynn Ingrid Nelson
Bringing more balance to our lives in a work-obsessed world
Are you the one at work who picks up stray projects and are at your desk after others have headed home? Is your work life more compelling than your non-work life?
There are many cultural pressures to over- focus on tasks at work and at home. And while there are fewer motivators for spending your energy on your creative, playful, spiritual and emotional sides, there are immeasurable dividends.
Most of us just need to be more intentional about bringing our lives into balance, so we can experience more joy by being less singularly focused.

About Author | Lynn Ingrid Nelson
Author of Bringing Your Life into Balance Lynn Ingrid Nelson is a member of the first generation of a majority of women who worked full-time while raising children. In 1988, Lynn was also one of the first executive women in Minneapolis to request a modified work-week from her Fortune 100 employer and receive it. Resources for balancing work and family were beginning to emerge. But most of these resources didnʼt recognize that parents also need time for their own interests and passions, as well.
Thirty years later, Lynnʼs a successful consultant, has taught public relations for more than 10 years at the University of Minnesota and has a robust creative, volunteer and family life. She loves sharing with other professional women ways to balance the demands of work, without giving up the passions that inspire them.
